The Pittsburgh Steelers nfl shop black Friday have signed free-agent quarterback Michael Vick to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.

Vick met with the Steelers in Pittsburgh earlier in the day, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Josina Anderson, as the team was in the market for a backup to Ben Roethlisberger after Bruce Gradkowski black friday nfl shop dislocated a finger in his left hand during last week's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

In a corresponding move, the Steelers placed Gradkowski on the reserve/injured list. He is having surgery Tuesday, a source told Schefter, and is expected to miss three to four weeks, leaving Landry Jones nfl shop black Friday deals as the only other full-time quarterback on the Steelers' roster prior to the Vick signing.

"There's not a throw on the field he can't make from an arm strength standpoint," Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said. "He's a very experienced guy at what he does at this point in his career and the mobility is still unique even at 35."

Vick, 35, spent last season with the New York Jets behind Geno Smith, appearing in 10 games overall, starting three. He completed 64 of 121 passes for 604 yards, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed 26 times for 153 yards, and engineered an upset over the Steelers on Nov. 9 by throwing for two touchdowns in a 20-13 victory, his lone triumph during an otherwise forgettable season. The Jets made no move to retain him.

Prior to his stint in New York, Vick had resurrected his career with Philadelphia following a nearly two-year prison stay for financing a dogfighting ring. He made the Pro Bowl in 2010 after throwing for 3,018 yards and 21 touchdowns as a member of the Eagles nfl shop black friday promo code.

Roethlisberger said he supported the potential addition of Vick if the move helps the team. When asked about the QB's past, Roethlisberger said, "This is a locker room. It's about football. That's what matters to me most."

Roethlisberger is known in the Pittsburgh area as an advocate for dogs. The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation helps support K-9 units of police and fire departments.

Roethlisberger said most of the players in the Steelers locker room "probably grew up wanting to be Michael Vick" on the field because of his "freakish athleticism" while with the Atlanta Falcons nfl shop black friday discount code.

The Steelers' alternatives to Vick were limited. The free-agent quarterback pool is dried up, and Tomlin revealed Gradkowski could need two hand surgeries after he injured himself Sunday against the Packers while trying to scoop up a fumble. Vick was the best option available.

The Steelers are sensitive to Vick's high-profile past, Tomlin said.

"Rest assured he's done a lot since he's gone through some of the things he's gone through," Tomlin said. "His track record to this point in that regard speaks for itself."

Randall Cobb is the Green Bay Packers'nfl shop cyber monday new No. 1 receiver, but he says he's not going to let that go to his head -- and he's not talking about his ego.

He's talking about his psyche.

Cobb admitted he tried too hard early last season to make things happen early in order to prove he was worth a big-money contract, and he said he believes it contributed to his by DNSUnlocker start. Once he realized it, Cobb said he put it out of his mind and started to produce. After the season, the contract came, in the form of a four-year, $40 million deal.

It's a lesson he believes he can apply to this year, now that the Packers' leading receiver,Jordy Nelson cyber monday nfl shop, has been lost for the season with a torn ACL. Cobb will be expected to step into the role as Aaron Rodgers' go-to receiver, but don't expect that to be a mental hurdle for him.

"I don't think that is an issue," Cobb said Tuesday. "I pressed last year in the beginning of the season, and I'm not going to do that again. There's no need for that. Aaron's going to do his job, he's going to get us the ball. It's my job when I get those opportunities to make things happen."

Cobb caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. But three weeks into the season, he had only 14 receptions for 126 yards. Cobb's role might not change significantly. While Nelson played mostly on the outside, Cobb typically has been a slot receiver in the Packers' three-wide set. At 5-foot-10, he's better suited to play inside.

"If we're in a three-receiver set, most likely I'll be inside," he said. "If we're in a two-receiver set, I'll obviously be outside. It just depends on what we do. We'll move around. We planned on moving around this year, so I don't think our plan changes. It's just finding that guy that's going to be able to plug in and be able to fit into what we're trying to accomplish."

The bigger issue will be finding players to complement Cobb. In practice on Tuesday, the Packers opened in a three-receiver set that featured second-year Davante Adams nfl shop cyber monday deals and rookie third-round pick Ty Montgomery on the outside with Cobb in the slot. Montgomery also can play in the slot. Second-year pro Jeff Janis nfl shop cyber monday promo code, the likely No. 4 receiver, has only played outside.

"We're a couple of weeks out from the season opener now, and we need to know who we can count on," Cobb said. "Who are the guys that are going to step up and make those plays for us in those critical times during the season? We have to find that out. There's not a lot of time. Obviously, me and Davante are going to do everything we can. I think we have the ability between me and him to lead this group, and we're looking forward to the opportunity."

New York Giants wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz nfl shop thanksgiving day believe Jacksonville Jaguars defensive backs were "gunning" for Beckham in Saturday night's preseason game, and neither thinks Beckham has seen the last of that sort of on-field activity.

"This year, that's just what the case is going to be," Beckham said of being targeted while speaking to ESPN Radio's The Michael Kay Show on Tuesday afternoon. "So, by DNSUnlocker protect yourself. I know that, by the time the season comes, on those plays I'm going to have to sit there and take the hit, because I want to catch the ball and I want [quarterback] Eli [Manning] thanksgiving day nfl shop to keep throwing those balls and him giving me opportunities."

"I was a little unhappy last week because I felt some of those DBs were gunning for him," Cruz said before Giants practice Tuesday after being held from the game. "It was sad to see that go down because I felt like I couldn't help him. Couldn't go out there on the field and run routes with him, take some of the pressure off him, things like that."

Beckham was thrown at five times in Saturday's game and didn't catch a pass. On a couple of his routes, he clearly pulled up short of the ball because he saw a safety coming hard after him.

"Even towards the back end of the season, I know there were plays just like in this preseason that guys have an opportunity to make a play on the ball and they're not making a play on the ball," Beckham said. "Instead they're going towards me. I know it's part of the game and I'm not going to be the one to sit there and complain about it. But it's just like, man to man, if you have a chance to make a play, make a play. Don't make the play on me or try to blow me up."

Cruz, who's being held out of preseason games because of last season's right knee injury and this summer's left calf injury, said he saw the same thing.

"When guys have an opportunity to get an interception and they don't even go for the ball, that's what you don't want to see," Cruz said. "From the sideline you could see it. When you're running a vertical route and you take a peek at the safety and see him, head down, trying to spear you. You can see that from a mile away."

Beckham had several testy exchanges with Jacksonville defenders during the game. At one point, he shoved safety Sergio Brown nfl shop thanksgiving day deals out of bounds after a play, clearly frustrated with the treatment he was getting from the defense.

Brown, however, denied targeting Beckham.

"No. That's just football. It's a preseason game," Brown said. "That's how you play football in the NFL. It's not practice. It's live, so if they throw the ball up, you've got to be prepared to catch it or protect yourself. No gunning."

Jaguars cornerback Davon House nfl shop thanksgiving day promo code also denied Cruz's accusation and said Beckham just had a tough night.

"I don't know if he was frustrated from what Sergio did or what he thinks Sergio might have done, or if he was just frustrated because he wasn't getting enough balls," House said. "I don't know. It's a better question for Odell to answer and their offense."

Regardless, Cruz knows that teams will continue to give Beckham their best shot.

"I dealt with that a little bit, as well," Cruz said. "It's just something he has to deal with and battle through. He's a smart kid and he knows that. You've got to expect it every game."

Beckham has spoken several times this offseason about his need to control his temper and emotions during games when opponents are trying to needle or attack him.

"I talked a lot last year about just having mental strength and being able to control your emotions," Beckham said in an interview with ESPN earlier this summer. "I feel like I've been a lot better about it, maybe because we haven't been in a game or playing against another team. I don't know. I just genuinely love playing football, have such a passion for it, that it's hard sometimes not to be frustrated with something not going right. But it comes with the game, and you just take it and learn from it."
